restore & meditate

with susan richardson

One of the core elements of a healthy yoga practice and a healthy life is the art of relaxing deeply. From this ability the individual is able to provide themselves with deep rest and healing.

Restorative yoga is a style of yoga that enhances the ability of the student to relax and let go of tension, completely calming the nervous system.  It is through obtaining deep rest that we are able to pursue a vigorous yoga practice as well as an active and happy life.

This workshop will be an opportunity to experience deep relaxation, and the ability to cultivate this state of inner peace even during more difficult moments. Time will be spent time both with restorative, supported yoga postures and sitting meditation practice.

Susan Richardson
Deeply inspired by her travels to Tibet, Nepal and India throughout the 80's, Susan has since been committed to the path of awakening. In 1987 Susan studied the "Lam Rim Chenmo" teachings with His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala. She has since studied with many Tibetan lamas and teachers. Most recently she has been studying with Tsultrim Allione and Adzom Rinpoche of the Nyingma lineage.

Susan seeks a strong and steady connection to the earth through a daily spiritual practice incorporating asana, meditation and the study of sanskrit. She is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher and brings to her teaching a deep fascination with the science of anatomy, and the philosophy of classical yoga and buddhism. Susan is indebted to her many teachers and aims to share the deep joy, the calm compassion and the inner awareness that practice unfolds.
