30 Day Autumn Detox & Yoga Challenge Cleansing detox for health, rejuvenation and energy Feeling sluggish or out of sync? Having skin problems, aches and pains, or digestive problems? Straying from your healthier habits lately? It might be time for a detox, or cleanse. Practiced for centuries by many cultures around the world — including ayurvedic and Chinese medicine systems — detoxification is about resting, cleansing and nourishing the body from the inside out. By removing and eliminating toxins, then feeding your body with healthy nutrients, detoxifying can help protect you from disease and renew your ability to maintain optimum health and lifelong vitality.
Scroll down to read students' experiences with the Detox Program The 30 Day Challenge During the kick off lecture by Chantal Ayotte Registered Holistic Nutritionist, you will learn what foods to eat and what to avoid, which foods will help you flush toxins from your system, banish cravings, lose weight. You will be given a holistic detox plan will include recipes, menus and detoxification guidelines for increased energy which you will follow for 10 days. Upon completion of the 10 day detox program, we will embark on a 20 day DAILY yoga challenge in which the focus will be on maintaining our newly accessed energy and strengthening our bodies by practicing yoga every day. The Terms! The Detox Plan Students must follow the detox plan to the best of their ability for the entire 10 day period. Please ask questions or call us if you are tempted to have that chocolate cake that's being forced upon you!! The Yoga You may attend any yoga class on any given day throughout the 20 day period. Also, home practice may count under special circumstances on a day that you cannot come to the studio. Passes will be valid from Oct 23 - Nov 11 and a maximum of 2 days of yoga practice may be missed to be eligible for the reward.

I felt rather intimidated to just embark on one by myself. I also had no desire to drink water with a few other ingredients for ten days. Our bodies need more than just water even if in a cleanse. When I saw that Breathe was organizing a spring detox I decided to attend the lecture that would explain what I thought would be a monumental undertaking. The lecture was very informative and it provided me with the comfort that this was a well balanced detox which could be undertaken by mere mortals. With new foods to explore, it became mind over matter as I undertook the challenge with 50 or so other keen individuals. The recipes provided made the journey much easier. I found the Facebook detox group rather informative and supportive. You feel like you are not doing it alone, albeit the support you receive is cyber in nature. I was introduced to foods that have now become staples in my diet since they provide not only healthy choices but are tasty alternatives to the foods that most people are accustomed to consume. I have since changed the way I eat and eliminated several items that were part of my food repertoire. I was very happy with the results and felt great during the detox. I am not a coffee drinker and perhaps this made it easier. The 20 day yoga program that followed, although challenging, was fantastic. It completed the process. I look forward to my fall detox." J.C July 2009 First & foremost, it came at a time where I was ready and available to apply myself to the change in diet and exercise regime. I was, in fact, 6 1/5 months post-pregnancy and needed to clean out my system. My blood pressure was low, my vit. D was 1/2 it should be, I was tired, my soft tissue tone was week, I had excess weight and I needed a little self-time. I continued the diet aspect of the detox for the 30 days (added in food groups here 'n' there).The sweat I bared during the physical aspect was a sign to myself that I had excess stuff to shed. I still sweat now but not as much.The challenge forced me to practice with a variety of teachers which taught me more than I would have imagined. Now, I am a believer that you will get more out of practice with this diversity than you would attending the same teacher. The same stands true to the variety of levels and class types.In the end;
