Backbends for Beginners with Andrea Peloso

Backbends are a powerful way to maintain a healthy and strong spine through stimulating circulation in the spinal column.  Regular back bending also helps in achieving emotional balance.   

In this back bending workshop we will introduce proper alignment and safe techniques to slowly enable deeper backbends.  Related topics of upper leg and shoulder tension will also be connected with this general theme.   

We will approach this workshop in a way that accommodates various ranges of motion in the spine and help overcome fears associated with backbends.    

Beginner level students and new back benders welcome!
 

Andrea Peloso has been practicing yoga in various modalities for twelve years and completed her teaching certification at the Downward Dog Yoga Center in 2003. Andrea provides a challenging, participatory, and fun environment that accepts the unique challenges and abilities of each individual.  As Breathe Yoga Studio's primary Yoga Basics instructor, she has introduced  hundreds of absolute beginners to yoga and continues to inspire her student to advance their yoga practice.
