June 22:   Inversions & Restorative; Intro to meditation and pranayama

In this final workshop we will explore inversions including headstand, shoulderstand and handstand and where they traditionally are placed in the practice. If you have fear about these practices we will explore options for you as well as potential students to overcome these fears and work towards inversions in an incremental step process.

We will conclude with an introduction to restorative yoga and the importance of having knowledge of this style of asana not only to balance your own personal practice but to be able to call on this skill set when required to do so by your students. This will naturally lead us into an exploration and discussion of meditation and pranayama practice and how it is incorporated traditionally within the Ashtanga practice as well as how to develop a separate meditation and pranayama practice.
