Autumn Teacher Advancement Series for teachers and advanced students taught by senior teachers
3 Thursdays in November 6-9:00pm
This workshop series is designed to compliment a teacher training course. It is for those who wish to develop and practice fundamental skills for structuring and teaching a yoga class. It is also useful for new or current teachers who would like to recieve feedback on their teaching or are looking for inspiration and new ways to teach beginner poses Workshop themes will include the fundamentals of:
This series of workshops will help to develop confidence in teaching by allowing for teaching time each week. Teaching, like our yoga practice requires practice and repetition in order for us to start to feel more natural and comfortable in front of a class. The only way to get rid of our fears is to face them! These workshops will be the safe space where we can do that.
IDENTIFYING & WORKING WITH NOV 11 This workshop will examine the most common yoga injuries and detail related safety aspects as a means of injury prevention. In addition, participants will learn how to read bodies to identify future problem areas and how to modify a yoga practice during the healing process. Either due to repetitive strain or overstretching, the most common yoga injuries occur at: • Wrists • Neck & Shoulders • Knees • Hamstrings • Spine & Sacrum
INTEGRATING RESTORATIVE YOGA NOV 18 This workshop will go over the basic theory of the benefits of Restorative Yoga and explore the integration of restorative yoga poses into three different styles of classes. Through hands on adjustments and set ups we will look at
FINDING CREATIVITY IN CLASSES NOV 25 This workshop is designed to help teachers find resources for planning a creative class. Looking at different sources for inspiration, ways to stay motivated, ways to continue to challenge yourself and your students. We will also look at the different rhythms in nature and how this affects our students and our teaching.
Participants should review the anatomical structure of these joints and muscle groups prior to the workshop. |
